At A Forever Recovery, long term residential treatment is the rehab treatment that most people need when they have been involved in the long term drug or alcohol addiction process, or have tried to quit several times through rehab with unsuccessful results. When the person first enters into long term residential treatment they will learn about the three phases they will go through.
Phase One is when he or she first arrives to the half way house. During this phase the individual will be under great watch from the people there trying to help. They have on sight treatments and doctors if need be and also they are there 24/7 to help a patient with anything needed.
Phase Two will come after a few months of close watch, and when the person enters into this phase they will be watched much less and given a little bit of freedom.
Phase Three is when the patient is given more freedom right before they enter into the last stage of treatment. During the 9 months the patient is in the half way house they will go through counseling, learn to work with teams, and how to live life drug free.
After they have accomplished the first three stages and learned how to live life normally and drug free, they then will get the chance to live for the last three months in a transitional house. This house is designed to help the patients live a normal life without having them just go to treatment and that is it. The will still have counseling and what not, but they also get to have a day job, and try and live normal in everyday life. When a person completes this stage they will be able to go into the world and embrace it for everything it is worth, drug free.
